'We knew the flashy photos of A-listers on the red carpet would accompany our daily coverage, and wanted an outsider’s glimpse — capturing what it was like being part of the crowd beyond the planned photo ops and parties the wire services were covering. Shooting over five days, Violette’s photos showcase everyday life continuing in a parallel universe to the starry hub- bub — in some cases literally, as the beach is across the street from the Palais where many red carpet events were held.'
