Violette Franchi is a documentary photographer and videographer currently based in Nice (France) and available for international assignments.

After growing up in the South of France, she studied architecture in Paris and in Kansas. In 2015, she discovered photography in the U.S. and documented the Midwest. After becoming an architect, Violette Franchi pursued photography and took classes at the National School Louis-Lumière in Paris. In 2019, her documentary work Laetitia was exhibited in a solo show in Kansas. In 2020, her photographs have appeared in i-D Vice, aPhotoEditor, and her writings were published in The Fever Club. In 2020, she graduated from the Visual Journalism and Documentary Practice program at the International Center of Photography in New York. She received the ICP Director’s Merit Fellowship and the Documentary Arts Fellowship for her recent project Crossroads, revolving around Large-scale housing and Promises in an urban American landscape. Her general practice reveals an interest in places we call “home”, in their intimate and public scales, in their abstract and structural forms.
